You can find laminate flooring for sale at most home building supply houses such as Lowe’s, Ernest’s, Menards and Home Depot and many online outlets like Amazon and Ebay. Your local Yellow Pages will also provide information regarding carpet and flooring suppliers in your area. You can even buy directly from some manufacturers online.

Laminate flooring is most often four layers of materials. The inner two are the HDF core layer, made of fiberboard, and the design layer made to resemble hardwood, tile, plank flooring, natural stone, bamboo, and wide plank flooring.  Both the top and the bottom layers of the laminate flooring are impregnated with amino plastic thermosetting resins or melamine. This sturdy flooring is available in many installation forms from tiles, planks, and panels and even other styles.

Originating in Europe, laminate flooring is a relatively new product to North America. Its popularity is the reduced cost, ease of installation, and long enduring beauty.

Care should be taken to research price, quality of product and delivery costs. A wise consumer will take the time to identify not just cost by square foot of the laminate flooring but the cost of any needs of “sub flooring” and underlayment. Some laminate has the pad preinstalled and others you will need to buy it seperately.

Many retailers and wholesalers have laminate flooring for sale and are offering specials on installation for those not wanting to do it themselves. Lowe’s and Home Depot from time to time also offer the “do it your self” seminars in “how to” Install laminate flooring.
